  2. Mar 06,  · Not one of her most overwhelming albums. Typical 80s female pop vocal fast beat tunes. Even the hit song "Love of a Lifetime" is forgettable. Buy it cheap to complete your collection of Chaka Khan but never pay full price. If you've got no other reason to buy it pass on this one IMHO/5(58).

Spine: 9 Cover: An "E A S T" embossed around the center hole on label indicates it was pressed at Specialty Records Corporation (sourced from metal parts that were originally made for use at Allied Record Company).

Records in Destiny was Khan's follow-up to the platinum-selling I Feel for You and was as high tech as its predecessor—symptomatically and characteristically for its period with more producers and sound engineers credited in the liner notes than musicians—but was musically more geared.

  8. The production is broadly spacious,soulful and vocally of course Chaka gives them her all. The confidant "My Destiny","So Close" and the faux live sounding "Who's It Gonna Be" are the only tunes here that have the rock flavor and even still they're basically dance-funk tracks especially if you take the hard edged guitars away/5(23).
